Aleppo soap (also known as savon d'Alep and laurel soap) is a handmade, hard bar soap associated with the city of Aleppo, Syria. Traditional Aleppo soap is classified as a Castile soap as it is a hard soap made from olive oil and lye, from which it is distinguished by the inclusion of laurel oil.
For thousands of years, it has been cooked by Aleppo's master soap makers and their craftsmanship is still handed down from father to son so we can enjoy its beneficial effects. Traditional Aleppo soap does not contain palm oil
Unlike industrial soaps, Aleppo soap does not contain palm oil which helps the soap paste dry more rapidly and It is well known as first purest soap ever made.
The process of making Aleppo soaps is long and require time. The large blocks of soap are made by hand using traditional method, these soaps are cut into blocks and stamped with the mark of manufacturer. After soaps are set out to dry for a period of 6 to 9 months.
Aleppo soap is an ecological product, free of artificial colorants, synthetic fragrances, palm oil and preservatives. It is made using artisanal methods: the soap paste is obtained by saponification of olive and bay laurel oils.
